- Combination Car Seats are safer for older children that can sit up completely supported
- They are typically Forward-Facing only but still provide a 5 pt. harness
- Combination Car Seats typically have the option to remove the harness straps transition into a high-back and backless booster
- As the child grows, this seat transitions from a forward-facing seat with a harness into a booster.
- Always follow all manufacturer instructions specific to your car seat!
- Booster seats can either have a high back or no back
- A High-Back booster offers MUCH more support than no back
- While backless boosters offer less support than high-back boosters, they are still a much SAFER option than a seat belt alone!
- A backless booster seat is designed to boost the child’s height so the seat belt fits properly. It does not provide head and neck support. It is ideal for vehicles that have head rests.
- Always follow all manufacturer instructions specific to your car seat!
Remember, each time you move your child to the next stage in Car Seat, less and less support is being provided. It is a much SAFER option to keep your child in the Car Seat providing the absolute MOST support and restraint possible for their height and weight.
Any time a Car Seat is used forward-facing, the included teether strap should always be used up to the manufacturer allowed weight limit.
